As one of the foremost experts on Open Source strategy and databases optimization, Peter leveraged both his technical vision and entrepreneurial skills to grow Percona from a two-person shop to one of the most respected open source companies in the business. Peter is also a co-author of High Performance MySQL: Optimization, Backups, and Replication, one of the most popular books on MySQL performance.
Alkin Tezuysal has extensive experience in open source relational databases, global operations, and services of MySQL and related technologies.
Sveta’s main interests include problem-solving, working with tricky issues, and teaching others how to deal with MySQL gotchas effectively.
Sergey is a Product and technology leader. Worked in various fields: internet service provider, financial sector, and M&A business. Main focal points were infrastructure and products around it. Currently, leads product @ Percona focusing on cloud-native technologies for open source databases
Joined Percona in the month of July 2018. Before that, Ibrar worked as a Senior Database Architect at EnterpriseDB for 10 Years. He has 18 years of software development experience. Ibrar authored multiple books on PostgreSQL.
Before joining Percona he had worked for some big Greek tech companies and academic institutions and had also been involved in numerous research programs. He holds a BSc and a MSc in computer science and has many years of working experience as a systems and databases administrator. He loves everything around databases.
Strives to make troubleshooting in production easy for every developer. Passionate about SRE practices, observability, and open source.
Sergey has 4 years of experience as a software engineer, and 3 years as a product manager/entrepreneur. He loves applying new technologies to create valuable products.
Valery has more than 18 years of experience with Linux and leads the team since 2018, providing a stable, solid environment for all company projects. He enjoys learning new technologies and using them to build new systems.
I am 39 years old and have almost 16 years of IT experience start from Infrastructure. I grown myself with self education and curiosity. Right now I’m managing DevOps&SRE teams at SmartMessage. I am an old basketball player, ex.DJ and daddy of a son and a daughter.

Alexey is an experienced developer and leader. He spent the last ten years working with Go at different jobs, organizing Go meetups and conferences, and making podcasts. At Percona, he led the development and architecture efforts of Percona Monitoring and Management – a best-of-breed open-source database monitoring solution. Previously, he worked on many things ranging from operating systems and industrial internet of things appliances to large distributed systems – all in Go.
