Enterprise-Grade PostgreSQL: Built on Open Source Tools

You built your application on top of PostgreSQL. It works great, but now that you have taken it to market, you realize how much it relies on the database. How can you harden PostgreSQL? How can you make the solution you built around PostgreSQL enterprise-grade?
