Vadim Tkachenko co-founded Percona in 2006 and serves as its Chief Technology Officer. He leads Percona CTO Labs, which focuses on technology research and performance evaluations of Percona and third-party products, designing hardware, filesystems, storage engines, and databases that surpass the standard performance and functionality scenario benchmarks. Under his supervision, Percona has developed and shipped Percona Server for MySQL, Percona XtraBackup, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Percona Server for MongoDB.
Stas Kelvich is currently a Co-Founder at Neon. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at Yandex from April 2020 to March 2021. Stas worked on the Yandex database team. Before that, they were a Software Engineer at Postgres Professional from March 2015 to April 2020. Stas worked on hacking Postgres clustering, developing a fault-tolerant replication mechanism for Postgres, cross-node snapshot isolation transactions for vanilla Postgres using loosely synchronized clocks, and an Epoll-based pub/sub queue on top of Postgres wire protocol to handle internal cluster communications. Stas Kelvich received their Master's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute). Stas also received their Bachelor's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the same school.
